A while back, teacher Nancy Costa, stumbled upon Platial while working on a seven wonders project with her class and last week I got this:
"I just wanted to send you a link to the kid's site.
Your map is linked on the Ancient Wonders page. Thank you again for your contribution to their site!"
We've had other classes use Platial but I haven't seen the fruits of their labor. In just a few weeks, these kids learned their subject, investigated all of the resources available about it, made their own analysis of data and selection of tools and then built the site. A perfect counterbalance to the problems in American public schools we normally hear about.
I have used Platial to create a personal map of Philadelphia for friends and family who will be coming to Philly to celebrate my wedding. Is there any way to print out the map so people can hold it in their hands as they are exploring Philadelphia?
Thanks,
Merryl.
