This is an update of an earlier post on this subject.
The easiest way to add your videos to Places is to first upload them to a video sharing site. The video site will give you the html which you can just copy and paste into Platial. The code you need is labeled "embed" and can be found right on the page where the video plays.
There are a lot of services out there and many of them are free. Some of the most popular options are discussed in this article. I have had good luck with both Vimeo and YouTube. Vimeo has a smaller upload limit.
Kclama uses Vimeo. Here are some enchanting bugging movies from Tsui Hang.
Here's an example of a Youtube video playground review.
You can also find other people's videos to add to your maps on video sharing sites. Do not use copyrighted material. Most sites serve up the html for their own video player on the same page where the video plays. Look for the word EMBED or look for the embed tag at the beginning and at the end of the code. Just select that code, copy it, paste it into the description box of your Platial Place, and the video will show up.
You can adjust the size of the video in the Place descriptions by adjusting size attributes: HEIGHT="heightyouwant" WIDTH="widthyouwant." Height=350 and width=420 is a size that fits well into the Platial layout on smaller screens and monitors.
