I'm looking for case studies related to community cartography. If you are using Platial or another platform for collaborative mapmaking, I'd like to know more about your goals, methodology, benefits and challenges, metrics for success and what support is needed for future implementation. Examples we're currently investigating include:
# Local resources sharing; community gardens, junkyarding, local workshops and education
# Local food shed and mapping changes/resources
# Maps as tool for cultural diplomacy- connecting people across borders, sharing local customs and concepts, cultural exchange
# Successful map based actions/campaigns for rallying/organizing
# Peer navigation/Social navigation
# Forgotten histories
# Gathering and visualizing data about problems: pollution, crime, disease
If you are interested in participating in this research and sharing your case study/story, please email me diann-at-platial(dot)com
Happy Mapping!
